NGUGI IN BLOEMFONTEIN

All-time great African writer, Ngugi wa Thiong'o graced the University of Free State where he delivered an illuminating lecture. Throngs of academics, writers, and admirers turned up for the occasion. Ngugi was delighted to receive a copy of author Pule Lechesa's latest book, Essays on Free State Black Literature, where Lechesa confesses on the blurb that Ngugi has been a key literary influence in his life since he was a kid. Oh, Ngugi! WE all grew up reading his wonderful novels and essays.
Petals of blood, The river between, Matigari, Writers in politics etc.
Certainly one of the all time greatest three African writers. A man
who for many decades has performed wonders for African writing, the
early pioneers who showed the unbelieving western world that Africans
could be creative and match their best in the arts
