The South African female black writer, Sindiwe
Magona is easily one of the all-time greats of African writing. Her life story
continues to be an inspiration for countless people.
Her many published books show her sublime writing
skills plus her range and vision; from autobiographies, to general fiction,
short stories, biography and linguistic testimonies.
Additionally, over the years Magona has been
involved in extensive literary collaborations with many other writers of
different colours and persuasion; eg producing many books for children in the process.
Magona's work has been focused on intensively by scholars
and critics all over the world. Full-length books, and nigh-countless scholarly articles continue
to be published on her output. Even at her age she remains a passionate
literary activist in her home country, South Africa.
